Puff Puff aka Fat cooks

What you need: 

  • 2 cups warm water ( add a little more during the process if necessary)

  • 2 1/4 teaspoon active dry yeast(1 sachet)

  • 3 1/2cups flour

  • 1/2- 3/4 cup sugar

  • 1/2Tbsp salt

  • Two teaspoon of cooking oil

  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions:  

  • Dissolve your sugar and yeast in a small amount of warm water ( 1/4 cup) and set aside.

  • Pour your Flour and Salt in a bowl and mix with clean hands.

  • Add two teaspoons of cooking oil.

  • Add your dissolved yeast and sugar.

  • Start mixing while you add warm water bit by bit.

  • Mix till paste is smooth. Make sure your mixture is not too light or not too thick.

  • Use a lid or a foil paper too cover the surface of your bowl.

  • Let it rise for 45-60minutes.

  • Heat up your oil ( medium-high heat) in a deep pot making sure it’s just hot enough and not too hot ( If it’s too hot, your puff puff will get brown but uncooked in the inside).

  • Take off the foil paper and use your hand to whisk the puff puff paste to deflate the air.

  • Scoop a considerable amount with your hands and gently drop round ball-like shapes into the heated oil. Alternatively, you can use use a spoon to scoop and drop into your heated oil.

  • Fry till golden brown

  • Serve hot with Beans, Corn porridge or Pepper sauce.
